Fuel is a necessity for most people and whether it is driving to work or using your car regularly for other reasons, improving your fuel efficiency can make a major impact on how much money you make.

Keep up to date with your tyre pressure

Naturally, over time, your tyres will lose air pressure. This is why it is crucial to always check your tyre pressure levels. Tyre Pressure levels can affect the safety of your vehicle along with fuel efficiency. To keep your car running smoothly, The car will change how much fuel is used if the tyre pressure is slightly out of line. Added friction can occur which can damage your tyres and ultimately lead to fuel loss.

The weight of your vehicle can affect fuel efficiency

When your vehicle gains lots of weight, an increase of friction is caused on the tyres due to a greater force pushing down on the surface. Reducing the weight will lower the force acting on the ground and will use less fuel. This added weight could be anything left inside of the vehicle or eternal features such as bike racks and other roof racks. Simply remove them if they are not needed to keep your fuel efficiency at an optimum.

Try to avoid the busy traffic

Depending on the time of day, traffic will be worse which can eat through your fuel more. Avoiding rush hour can be beneficial for your fuel efficiency and if possible try to not travel during these times as more time on the roads equals more fuel used. Planning journeys beforehand can be beneficial to calculate the quickest route. Even if you believe you know the quickest route, always make sure you see if there is traffic.
