Road Grip

When it come to road grip, winter tyres have a different type of tread to that of regular tyres. Offering better grip whilst driving, turning and during braking. The deeper tread on these tyres helps repel water better, giving you more control during wet conditions. Furthermore, stopping distances are reduced when comparing to normal tyres.

Cold conditions

Regular tyres can often crack during cold weather conditions, however, with winter tyres they retain flexibility. Winter tyres are made of a softer rubber which has more traction on ice and snow. For them to work affectively it is important that they are only used when the temperatures are below 7 degrees. Another important factor regarding winter tyres is they wear out a lot quicker in warmer conditions than regular tyres. The good news is when you buy winter tyres from ourselves, we can store your summer tyres for you. Then change them back over once the weather starts to get warmer.
