Is your tyre constantly loosing pressure?
One of the most frustrating things as a driver is when your tyres never seem to stay inflated. Sometimes changes in tyre pressure occur as tyres gradually loose air through the wear and tear on road surfaces, when this happens occasionally, it tends to not be a situation to worry about. If your tyre is constantly in a state where it is deflating, there may be a bigger reason to explain why.
Impact damage
When you’re driving and come into contact with an impact, the tyre is one of the main parts of the car that can be affected. Whether this collision is something as small as a curb to a larger crash, the damage can create lumps or bulges that leak air. This process can be so slow that you may not even realise that the tyre is losing air until weeks later!
Valve issues
If you’re finding yourself filling the air of your tyres up after almost every drive, one of the best places to look for the problem is at the source. Tyre valves can often become faulty through corrosion or a b build up of dirt that clog the airways. With a damaged valve it can be almost impossible to have functioning tyres, it’s best to take action as soon as possible before the tyre becomes completely flat.
Slow punctures
One of the most common and frustrating reasons that a tyre becomes flat is a slow puncture. When driving the tyres on our vehicles can often pick up objects that get stuck, these injects then can go onto create leaks of air at the site of the puncture. This type of puncture can be replaced without needing to completely change the tyre. This is dependent on where the object has caused the puncture and what the object that caused it was, for example, an area that is easily replaced is when an object is stuck within the central 3/4 of the tread.
